If I were to make you
I'd give you ribbons for lips
And silk for eyelashes
Honey and milk for your skin
More milk for your eyes
With smoothed sea glass in the middles
Satin hair
Egyptian cotton tongue
Must be jelly beans for toes
But only the good kind
Fingers whittled from young trees
Bark tight and strong, swirly knots in the middles
But still stump-y
Make your collar bones be candy canes
(I'll lick them up when I am done)
May your ears be peanut brittle
And may your brain still be a sponge
I'd give you ribbons for lips
And silk for eyelashes
Honey and milk for your skin
More milk for your eyes
With smoothed sea glass in the middles
Satin hair
Egyptian cotton tongue
Must be jelly beans for toes
But only the good kind
Fingers whittled from young trees
Bark tight and strong, swirly knots in the middles
But still stump-y
Make your collar bones be candy canes
(I'll lick them up when I am done)
May your ears be peanut brittle
And may your brain still be a sponge
Love,
Sunshine
